Toothbrush Tips

Do you keep track of how long you’ve been using the same toothbrush? Most people don’t. In fact, most people don’t even know the recommended length of time to use a tooth brush. Brushing your teeth tends to be a part of your daily routine that you don’t even think about but it’s important to know how to properly care for your toothbrush.

The longest you should keep your toothbrush is 3 to 4 months. However, it should be replaced sooner if the bristles are frayed because the toothbrush becomes less effective. Toothbrushes should be replaced this often because bacteria can begin to harbor on it. And, of course, never share your toothbrush!

Toothbrushes should not be kept in a closed container if they are wet. They should be left out in an upright position to allow them to air dry. Also, be sure to rinse thoroughly after each use.

A clean well-cared for toothbrush means a clean well-cared for mouth!
